Purple Ducks

Last spring I had posted about my finding of a hideous mallard that I was so excited about! {see posting here} Well in the posting I had explained how happy I was about finding it, painting it,.. then tragic news about it breaking. I was determined to glue it back together and after purchasing some Gorilla Glue to do the job it just did not look good, so to the garbage it went.
So once again I was on the duck hunt!
Last summer Adam and I were frequenting a local thrift store and there laying neglected on a dirty table were 4 beautiful ducks for CHEAP! $1.49 each.  SOLD!
I was unsure where I wanted to hang them and not sure about the color but after some long hemming and hawing I decided on in the living room and PURPLE!
I know they aren't for everyone, but I love them, they make me happy! Thank you Antonio Ballatore for the idea!

Living Room: Before, Before, Before, Before & After

I keep making changes to the living room (for anyone who knows me, that is not out of the ordinary) improvements I think, I hope. Since the last living room post I've gotten new toss pillows (Target $6.98! each) a new rug (Target $49.98!) New credenza (Salvation Army + TLC $22.00!) New Coffee Table (Craigslist + TLC $12!) I love Clearance and money saving DIY projects!

Credenza - DONE!

I've been wanting a new media storage cabinet since the one we were using was way too small and was never intended for under TV storage. The ones I liked of course were way out of our price range (I must have really good taste!) I've been looking on Craigslist & Goodwill and finally, I found one at Salvation Army on a half price sale! With a little TLC our new credenza turned out Perfect!! It is exactly what I was wanting. Plenty of room for the Playstation & Wii + extra storage for remotes, laptop, magazines,... It got a complete sand-down, new dark stain, white painted drawer fronts & I re-wood-glued the drawers. Adam even drilled a hole in the back for cords to come out of. It's a perfect fit to our living room & a very successful DIY project!
