Pink Duck

Last month Adam and I went to Spokane, WA for the first round of the NCAA tournament. {Adam thinks it is a tradition and we have to go, hmm..} On our 7 hour drive home we decided to stop at a few Goodwill's. At one of them I found a treasure!

This hideous wall hanging mallard. I have actually been searching for these for quite sometime. I am such a copycat, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE what Antonio did on HGTV season 3 of Design Star and totally want to do it! Do you know how hard it is to find ugly ducks?? - Hard! So when I spotted this at a GoodWill in Ellensburg, WA I was so excited. Adam, not sharing my excitement, thought I was joking as I put it in the cart. Anyway it made it home with us! I bought a can of spray paint and covered the thing in pink!
I loved it! {I know a few of you, not mentioning any names, do not share the same love for this thing as I do, and that's ok with me}  :-) I had it hanging up in the new office on a random nail that was already in the wall. Well.. while Adam was putting back on the moldings after finishing the flooring he was hammering away and then - Crash! All he said was "You're not going to be very happy.." My beloved duck cracked in 3 pieces!

I am determined to glue it back together and have bought some Gorilla Glue for the job. I hope it will soon make it's way back on the wall.

New kitchen faucet!

YEAH YEAH YEAH! This makes me really happy! It's the small things.. If anyone of you has ever used our kitchen faucet you'd known it's seen better days. It was leaky, wobbly, gross, small, and if you were lucky enough it would shoot water at you when you turned it on. Why did we wait so long to fix it? Well the thought was, we'll get a new sink, and when we get a new sink we'll get a new faucet. And if we're going to get a new sink, we should just re-do the counters while we were at it, then we'll fix it all at once... Well, we still have the same sink and the same counter tops, but the faucet could not get put off any longer! Adam and I went to Home Depot the other night and picked out the cheapest, most appealing one {in our eyes}. Here is before: YUCK YUCK YUCK
No matter what we are doing Ham and Charlie are always eager to help!

aw, so nice. No longer wobbly, no longer broken, and much more appealing! And I can fill a pitcher or large pot without having to use the sprayer!

and, while I am posting - check out my new pink {of course} coffee maker! I upgraded from a 4 cup pink Cuisinart coffee maker to a 12 cup. see old one here. Adam hated how small our old one was, 4 cups really only makes 2 normal coffee cups full so it was time to upgrade. We got a bargain too. It was $59.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond, used a 20% off coupon making it $47.99. Then Cuisinart had a $10 mail in rebate making it $37.99. Then we sold the old one on eBay for $20.00! So technically this beauty was only $17.99! I love a deal!

Master Bedroom - DONE!

We finished! {About 3 weeks ago, I'm a little slow on my blogging} Remember our master bedroom makeover? see here. And that I was waiting on our white birch tree wall decals to arrive because the eBay seller sent us black on accident? Well, they arrived finally! And I love them. They were so easy to put up and they defiantly makes a statement! The whole room is tied together - and finally finished. {Except for my $29.99 St. Vinny's chair sitting in the corner that I plan on reupholstering.. some day. My work here is never done.}

Ready for a BBQ

Remember my garage sale patio chairs? {see here} Well I finished them! and just in time for a family BBQ tomorrow afternoon! I love them! $10 well spent! Plus some spray paint.
                                               Before:
First I spray painted the arms and legs white, then I saran wrapped them.
Then I spay painted the body Apple Green.
Ta-da! So cute!
When I spotted these at a garage sale and was so excited about them, Adam was not, at all. I think he said something like, "Are you kidding me? You're serious? You want those?.." Then grumbled the whole time while loading them in the car. I think he likes them now :0)
Our lush green grass that you see is hardly that. What it is, is a complete swamp! Today Adam weed whacked it because it was about knee high, not kidding.
I already had this Apple Green and White patio set. My mom got it for us as a wedding gift. Now our new chairs match perfectly!
I went to Fuchsia Days at Fred Meyer and got some flowers. Ranunculus, my favorite!
What's a party without flamingos!?
My new wind chime that the Easter bunny got me.

Happy Spring
We're now set for a party!

New desk - sorta.

I just posted about our new office and one of the things left to do was a new desk. Well tonight Adam and I took a trip to our local Habitat for Humanity re-sale store and found a beauty! Meet the orange-cream-sicle. We were browsing in the door section thinking about getting an old door to turn into a desk when we spotted this:
It is just a table topper/counter top, not really sure what it was thing. {We set it ontop of our other desk for now}.
The plan:
-Paint the molding around the edge. The orange doesn't exactly match my orange accent I have going, but for now I'm going to keep it to see how I like it once I get my new curtains made and other decor in the room. Adam thinks we should keep it orange - I'm not sure.
-New legs or Adam wants to build a shelving unit under for support and a spot to store his records.

Hmmm, options.
Thoughts anyone?

New Office in Progress

So as I had mentioned before our friend/roommate was moving out. He moved out about a month ago so that meant another room to makeover! The plan has been to make that room into the office since it is bigger, and to turn my old office into the guest room. So a couple weeks ago we got started. I still wanted it pink, of course, but also wanted to do some fun wall paper or molding treatment to the walls. Then I saw on a fellow bloggers site this cool pattern that they painted on the wall {see here} They didn't have the best of luck with it, but still I wanted to try it anyway! I think I had pretty good success! It took quite some time to tape up the wall holding the level in 1 hand and trying to roll out the tape with the other.. Now that it is finished I love it {I could be a little biased though since I put a lot of work into it}
                                                 Before:

I painted over the tape with the original wall color so if any paint seeps under the tape it would be the color of the stripes. {A little trick I learned from watching many hours of HGTV}
This was the last room that needed to get the new flooring put in. Adam finished it in 1 day! I love my husband!
Charlie & Hamilton are always huge helps!

Closet doors or curtains will soon go up to hide this!
It's come a long way in a short amount of time, it still needs finishing touches.
-We want a new desk, have for way too long!
-I want to sew different curtains
-New desk chairs!
-A few things to put up on the wall
....... I'm sure there are more things, always is. For now I'm very happy with our progress and my new office space!
