Master Bedroom Update

Well since we finished our bedroom makeover last spring I've done very little to change it since I love it so much, still! Our old room & makeover process can be viewed {here} & {here} & {here}. 1 major thing that did get changed, which I had planned on changing, were the bedside lamps. I was always unhappy with what we had, but we had them so we used them. They just were the wrong look for the room. {and people on HGTV rate my space were quick to point out the flaws!} Then while shopping at TJMaxx I spotted these lamps on markdown and they couldn't have been more perfect! So onto craigslist our old ones went, and I sold them for $15!
Another change I made was hanging art on the wall. Adam got me for my birthday last year one of our wedding photos put on canvas. Since then the canvas has never had a permanent home {I've had it over a year now!} Last weekend I was determined to find it a home. Now I am wondering why I didn't think of putting it there a year ago...
Another thing, not so exciting, is the mirror. It was originally hanging above our couch, but when the purple ducks came about I took it down. It now is in our room. I plan on painting it - either espresso, white, or gray. Suggestions?
1 more thing.. New wall hooks! They were a Christmas gift from my sister & they match perfect to our bedding!
oh, and Adam got a new clock. It was found at Goodwill but it is originally from Pottery Barn. Cute! but it's kinda clicky at night..

Master Bedroom - DONE!

We finished! {About 3 weeks ago, I'm a little slow on my blogging} Remember our master bedroom makeover? see here. And that I was waiting on our white birch tree wall decals to arrive because the eBay seller sent us black on accident? Well, they arrived finally! And I love them. They were so easy to put up and they defiantly makes a statement! The whole room is tied together - and finally finished. {Except for my $29.99 St. Vinny's chair sitting in the corner that I plan on reupholstering.. some day. My work here is never done.}

The BIG reveal, almost..

So, it's been WEEKS since we started our bedroom makeover and I'm sad to say it's still not 100% complete. But, I can't take it anymore! It's so close I figured I'd post it anyway I'm that excited about it! drumb roll please ....................... Ta-Da!{My lamp shades still have the plastic on them.. Just in case I find something better!}This head board idea came from Kara over at Made2Create. When I saw it I fell in love with the idea! It is corrugated roofing metal that we bought from Home Depot. We bought 2 sheets, total cost: $23! It's the focus of the room and I love it!Adam built us a custom platform bed! Total cost for wood: $50!This really cool wall art piece was from a yard sale for $1! It used to be gold. See here. This perfect circle mirror was also a yard sale find for $2! It too, used to be gold. The curtains are from Target, they were on super clearance for who knows why! We got 4 95" panels for $13.98, TOTAL!Little tea light holder owl that I bought from Ross for $4.99. Used to be a weird color, see here. You might remember these end tables from a post a few weeks back, see here. They were a Craigslist find. I got these 2 and a matching coffee table for $40. I had originally planned to put the coffee table at the end of the bed and use it for a bench, but our room is just not big enough for that. Might have to re-sell the coffee table even though I already painted it yellow. What's not finished you ask?
This is what's not finished.. The wall of shame.
Problem: We ordered huge birch tree wall decals for this wall in white. {I think they will look awesome against the gray wall and with the bedding!} Well, they mailed us black birch trees. So we have to wait for them to re-send us the right ones. I also have a few other things to hang on the wall, but want to wait until we put up the tree decals to make sure placement is right.
You might remember from a previous post that I was sooooo excited to get my Amy Butler fabric in the mail that I was going to use in this room. ? Well, that was until we found this coverlet at Target. It was perfect and that also meant I didn't have to sew. So there in the laundry basket in the corner sits my 5 different patterns of Amy Butler fabric.. sad. I'll have to find somewhere else for her.
I'll post process pictures soon, there is a lot!

Special Delivery

Oh, how I love Amy Butler fabric.
So far I've used her in every room in the house, except for the bathroom & our bedroom.. until now!
The other day I ordered 4 different fabrics. 3 were from Fabric.com {used a coupon code + got free shipping!} and 1 was from eBay! Today my eBay order arrived - YEAH! It is from her Midwest Modern line called Martini Mustard. LOVE IT! It is going to go perfect in our bedroom - if we ever finish. Weekend's goal! Until then, another sneak peak will have to do.Check out the new wall color & FINALLY painted window seal! {don't worry I'll touch up} Mr. Owl will be getting a face lift to be continued...

Back to work at our own house... Bedroom Sneak Peek

So we are back at home and back to work on our own projects. The weekend before we went out of town we started on re-doing our bedroom. We got a few painting projects done, but so much more left to do. I am excited for this re-do so I wanted to post a sneak peek of what's to come.I love white spray paint! I even got Adam to help, briefly. Here is why we are re-doing our bedroom:could be worse, yes... but since we've lived here this is what the wall that I never photograph looks like:How embarrassing! The catch all corner for lamps we don't know where to put, picture frames that we don't know where to hang, a book shelf filled with books and whatever else makes it there, a laundry basket - always with laundry in it, 2 chairs, a dresser... Don't be fooled our bedroom is very small so to have this extra stuff "hiding" does not leave very much bedroom left. BUT... our roommate is moving out quite soon so that means... Another room to decorate!!! (or a catch all space for this junk pictures here).
